We are seeking a talented and motivated Sales Manager to join our team, reporting to our Senior Director of Global Specialty Sales. The candidate will be responsible for leading and managing our sales team in the US and Europe, developing sales strategies, and driving revenue growth across the Wiley portfolio in the healthcare and corporate markets. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales management, excellent leadership skills in the regions, and a passion for exceeding targets.

How you will make an impact:

  • Sales management: Leads team to maintain existing business and to develop new opportunities for substantial revenue growth across corporate and health markets in US & EMEA. Ensure high levels of sales service and a customer-centric approach.
  • Team management: Coach team members in complex negotiations, developing strategy and tactics for negotiating renewals, amendments and contract changes, and in creating robust new business development plans in the region.
  • Industry knowledge & insight: Establishes, maintains and shares a deep understanding of the corporate and healthcare market structure and trends, rate of market growth, competitors, nature and degree of political and legal influences and constraints.
  • Policy & Process: Works with cross-functional colleagues, and demonstrates a high attentional to detail, to ensure compliance across all team members.
  • Communication: Frequent communication to provide excellent sales management, coach, set goals, identify and act on opportunities, resolve conflict, direct and monitor performance, engage with stakeholders within Wiley and contribute to sales targets.

    We are looking for people who:
    • 10+ years of experience in the publishing industry. Experience in corporate and healthcare institutional sales is an advantage.
    • Coaching and mentor a high-performing sales team, providing guidance and support to drive results and exceed sales plan.
    • Implement optimal methodologies with the sales team to cultivate a culture of high sales performance and excellence.
    • Utilize data analytics tools to forecast sales trends, identify opportunities, oversee reliable renewal, new opportunity pipeline management and mitigate risks.
    • An entrepreneurial mindset. Work closely with other Wiley Sales teams operating in similar sectors to identify opportunities for collaboration.
    • Strong leadership and team-building skills, particularly with geographically and culturally diverse teams.
