What to expect:. You will be responsible for handling GC's higher profile or more complex clients. Process and collect all technical claim transactions timely and accurately for assigned clients. Primary contact between client and reinsurers on all XOL claim billing inquiries and collection matters. Acting coach and mentor responsible for assisting with the training and evaluation process of junior staff members within the team; providing system & technical claim guidance to junior colleagues; and regular feedback to manager on employee progress. Assist manager with coordination of the year-end Schedule F and LOC collateral process for those client accounts handled within the team; working closely with the Global Claim Consultants and Relationship Managers as needed.. What you need to have:. -- 5 to 7 years of related reinsurance industry experience managing Excess of Loss Claims.. --Good understanding of reinsurance concepts relating to industry practices.. --Knowledge of workflows to ensure the technical processing and payment of accounts.. --Ability to identify and independently resolve problems; using analytical skills to develop a customized solution to address client issues as needed.. --Strong verbal and written communication skills to present position with clients, markets and GC colleagues, at various levels of the organization regarding any complex and sensitive claim reporting issues.. --Ability to independently prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.. --Ability to interact professionally with colleagues, clients and markets.. --Computer skills for using Microsoft office (Excel & Word) and other general office software applications.. --Ability to travel as required.. We will count on you to:. --Verify contract documentation in order to activate (peer review) contract for claims processing in the Open Twins processing system.. --Review initial & subsequent claim advises; verify treaty coverage for reported losses; identify and resolve existing and potential problems; discussing issues outside the normal parameter with global claims and placing brokers as required.. --Process initial notices, claim billings and any reinstatement premium transactions as appropriate within specified service goal time frames.. --Collection of outstanding claim balances on assigned clients; providing billed, paid and outstanding status report updates to clients on a regular basis.. --Reconcile client and market accounts; assisting Market Fiduciary as needed with cash application issues.. --Request and secure required LOC's for assigned clients to ensure compliance with insurance department regulations; contact markets, banks and GC colleagues as needed to resolve issues and prepare report updates as deemed appropriate.. --Coordinate assigned client year-end schedule F and collateral efforts handled within team.. --Establish and maintain strong client and market relationships, paying visits when necessary; acting as the primary intermediary between the client and reinsurers.. --Arrange and attend routine audits with clients and reinsurers, when necessary; update management and placing brokers with a written audit report.. --Act as a coach and mentor for team; assisting team manager with the day-to-day training of junior staff members and providing technical guidance on complex claim matters.. --Work with Global Claims Consulting and Placing Brokers on any potential claim issues.. --Work with manager to devise and implement plans aimed at improving efficiencies where possible, either through potential system enhancements or workflow adjustments..
