The EY Research Institute supports this ambition by convening a team of subject matter experts, analysts, and researchers to support the firms most ambitious research projects. This team works directly with senior EY business leaders and marketing professionals to develop and deliver exceptional research projects that ultimately support conversations with EY clients and compelling content for EY.com. -The opportunityAs part of the EY Research Institute, you will have the opportunity to showcase your deep primary research expertise to help us deliver exceptional insights and thought leadership. You will work directly with senior EY business leaders to co-create and execute 10-15 high impact research projects a year on cross-cutting business topics. You will leverage a mix of primary research techniques and identify opportunities to incorporate other analytical approaches e.g data science to create differentiated points of view. These projects will result in high visibility publications on EY.com and the opportunity to support activation of insights with EY clients. All your work will be in collaboration with a cross-functional team including EY Knowledge analysts, data and analytics experts, editorial teams, -internal/external activation networks and external institutions e.g. academics, think tanks. -Your key responsibilitiesYou will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering the primary research aspects of each project. You will: -

  • Work directly with EY business leaders and our marketing team to turn a high-level research objective into a set of clear, business relevant, and testable hypotheses
  • Determine the optimal research strategy. Devise creative solutions to address the research objective using quantitative and qualitative primary research techniques. -
  • Execute the research strategy. You will be responsible for delivery of any primary research elements. This includes the design, execution, and analysis of expert interviews, focus groups, and complex global surveys of executives. -
  • Oversee a team of 1-3 analysts to execute data analysis, including providing guidance on research methodology, ensuring use of best practices, and ensuring the quality of insights and outputs generated. -
  • Turn observations in the data into a compelling narrative -and communicate these findings clearly and concisely to senior EY business leaders and executive audiences.
  • Partner with writers and marketing professionals to turn the narrative into thought leadership for EY.com. - -Skills and attributes for successYou are a primary researcher who can demonstrate a track record of creative, innovative and big picture thinking. Your communication, presentation and storytelling skills are compelling and concise, and you are excited to identify and share new analytic approaches, novel insights, and distinctive points of view.To qualify for the role you must have
    • At least 7 years of experience in primary research using a mixture of quantitative and qualitative techniques. This will include significant experience in designing, executing and analysing expert interviews, focus groups, and large global surveys. -
    • Experience structuring & managing hypothesis-driven primary research projects -
    • A theoretical and practical understanding of best practices in primary research design and analysis, including questionnaire development, sample stratification, significance testing, sample weighting, segmentation, and multi-variate regression.
    • Experience with appropriate statistical analysis tools such as SPSS, STATA, R, Python or Q
    • The ability to critically assess research results & advise on how to analyse, distil, and present key insights that may not be immediately obvious -
    • Ability to work asynchronously across time zones as part of a global team -Ideally, you'll also have
