Digital Product User Experience Design Lead As a global leader in insurance broking and risk management, Marsh helps clients succeed by defining, designing, and delivering innovative, industry-specific solutions to effectively manage risk. We are looking for a Digital Product User Experience Design Lead to join our office in New York or Hoboken. What can you expect? The Digital Product User Experience Design Lead will play a critical role in the implementation and execution of Marsh's largest and most impactful transformation to date. Reporting to the Global Director of Digital Product Management within the Chief Transformation Office, you will successfully shape and design Marsh's most significant, large scale, complex programs against the global strategic transformation and change agenda. The opportunity is within the Operations & Technology organization, focused on the Operational Excellence (OpEx) transformation program and its related priorities. This is a strategic opportunity to establish a User Experience & Design ("UXD") discipline within a newly formed organization. The Design Lead will not only "hit the ground running" by contributing to in-flight efforts, but will assist in the establishment of a User Experience & Design team. The Design Lead will also manage relationships with existing and future providers of UXD services to the organization. What's in it for you? Lead the creation of a scalable design-system and language that will support the central product strategy and fundamentally transform Marsh Evangelize a new way of delivering technology at scale, designed with the user in-mind and leading to solutions that not only meet functional requirements but also create user acceptance and satisfaction. Directly manage UXD efforts end-to-end including User Research, User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, and related activities. Play a leading role in fostering a culture of business engagement by assisting with stakeholder interviews, curating key objectives, and advocating for the target state experience. Be a key partner with business, IT, operations, support, vendors and others engaged on the multi-year transformation program. We will count on you to: Define a design system and language, and support its use across different products, platforms, and workstreams. Be an active member in product discovery exercises focused on crystallizing the end-user needs and curating demand in your digital product domain. Coordinate and deliver primary and secondary research findings such as stakeholder interviews, user research, and user testing to improve acceptance and to share insights with senior management Create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes to communicate and learn about the target-state experience Create high quality visual designs that achieve the desired reactions and response in users supporting the product strategy. Align designs and specifications to an effort's success criteria, key performance indicators, and other metrics of business impact. Collaborate with Product and other teams to ensure developed designs are converted into detailed specifications for implementation As Lead, collaborate with Program Managers and others focused on planning to provide UXD inputs for forecasting and portfolio governance Support in-flight delivery by participating in planning events and other routines surrounding a large scale agile environment. Manage vendor relationships as needed to carry forward in-flight work and augment permanent resource on future projects Develop a center of practice for User Experience & Design within the Operations & Technology organization by advocating for the discipline, building a team, and evangelizing the value created for the organization. Serve as a recognized expert in the UXD area to global leadership What you need to have: 10+ years' experience designing highly functional user interfaces 5+ years' experience directly managing a team Deep understanding of the User Experience & Design discipline, and its impact on creating products that end-users accept and enjoy Excellence at conceptualizing, modeling, and designing elegant user experiences for complex business processes Demonstrated competency in designing digital products or software solutions with measurable business results Experience defining and driving overall process of interaction design and information architecture for complex and highly functional business applications Ability to defend designs with objective rationale according to desired business impacts Demonstrated competency using digital products and solutions to meet business goals, enact organizational change, and realize commercial opportunities Expertise in translating business process and a wide variety of needs into clear specifications for user experience Success as part of large-scale products, programs, and other initiatives that were transformational to the institution Demonstrated competency generating business value in an environment of resource and time constraints Demonstrated competency in setting and meeting key performance indicators, success criteria, and business impacts Ability to show innovative and intuitive decision-making that has led to project, product, or program success Expertise in influencing cross-functional teams with or without direct management authority Experience with a product that was either commercial in nature or directly related to a business franchise Experience which demonstrates intellectual curiosity Demonstrated ability managing multiple priorities, stakeholders, initiatives in a structured fashion Mastery in communication skill-set to partners, peers, managers, and stakeholders Strong executive presence What makes you stand out A portfolio with samples of work to support your candidacy Mastery in stakeholder management with demonstrable successes at many levels in a dynamic and diverse environment Strong organizational skills Strong underlying domain experience in at least one relevant area of financial services space that includes but not limited to Insurance, Markets, Risk Management, Economics Formal instruction (a degree, minor designation, certification, or other course-work) in a relevant aspect of digital technology or design Experience with modern digital product management software such as Jira Experience managing to a formal budget/forecast including working with various portfolio planning software
