Digital Product Manager
The Digital Product Manager will lead a cross-functional
development process including engineering, data science, design and
editorial to continuously improve the outcomes of our students and
instructors. Primarily, the purpose of the position is to identify
the next things we should build or improve that will advance the
broader strategy of growth and profitability.
Key responsibilities of the role:
· Know the customer: actively pursue engagement with students
and instructors using usability studies, market studies and
research to understand deeply what’s working, what’s not working
and what unmet needs could transform the user experience.
· Know the market: become an expert in the space of edtech,
understand direct and indirect competitors, leverage this insight
to inform Knewton market positioning and product strategy.
· Establish a shared vision for the team working with Sales,
Editorial and senior leadership to align product strategy with the
broader organizational strategy and market development.
· Lead the agile team by providing a compelling vision,
prioritized opportunities, clarity of requirements and maintaining
an open dialog on broader business context and voice of the
· Develop innovative solutions by working collaboratively with
engineering, UX, data science and editorial in an agile process,
facilitating a creative process that finds the best balance of
speed, learnings and value delivered.
· Anticipate technical implementation details and sizing;
facilitate engineering execution
· Leverage data: utilize current and historical product data to
understand current patterns of usage and dig into root causes of
customer concerns to identify new opportunities. Crisply
communicate findings to drive buy-in and efficient decision making
in feature development. Utilize and evolve KPI framework to ensure
the team is in-tune with the health of the product and working in
the right direction.
Overall, 3-5 years experience as a technical product manager
3-5 years experience working on web applications or SaaS
3-5 years experience creating examples through wire frames and
