What you'll do Develops project management practices by adhering to the principles of the Walmart Global eCommerce (GEC) project management methodologies (for example, Agile); promoting the principles and business value of project methodologies throughout the organization; leading and contributing to the development and improvement of the Global eCommerce project methodologies; and communicating needed changes and participating in established feedback channels.Manages geographically distributed teams, off-shore development teams and third-party vendors (for example, software vendors, hardware vendors, photo vendors, content providers) by coordinating internal and vendor schedules and priorities; integrating teams and vendors into project strategy; communicating project status; evaluating system capabilities and ensuring sustainable functionality; ensuring delivery of proper functionality; and managing communications from vendors to internal stakeholders.Manages multiple highly complex projects (for example, system integrations) or a large complex Global eCommerce program by driving projects through the lifecycle phases to successful completion as defined in project's charter; serving as the project lead (for example, scrum master) for multiple projects; developing and maintaining a project schedule to track milestones; developing and executing plans for managing risk; escalating project-related issues to management in accordance with project guidelines and requirements; managing project change control processes; coordinating production issue resolution; interpreting data to help guide teams towards issue resolution and risk management; making recommendations regarding solutions to problems or issues; and presenting project status updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.Leads the development of eCommerce projects and programs by collaborating with subject matter experts to develop project scope; forecasting projected expenses; developing and managing project or program budget; establishing metrics to ensure adherence to established expectations; developing capital and resource plans; developing project timelines and deliverables; ensuring successful delivery; and providing feedback regarding project success.Ensures project manager development and continued successful performance by providing mentoring; monitoring program and individual project progress; providing periodic project status reports and executive summaries to stakeholders and management; developing new project managers to ensure skills are aligned with established Project Management Organization (PMO) standards; and providing mentorship and guidance to peers and management on methodology and practice. Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.Position Description:As part of the newly created Data Strategy and Enablement Team (DS&E), this role will be an enabler of our journey to be the world’s leading data-driven retailer. As part of this transformation, we are seeking an individual who will play the role of operationalizing and supporting the development of the enterprise data model. We are looking for a highly motivated, resourceful, team-oriented individual to support the development of enterprise data models. The Senior Manager will collaborate with the data modeling community and business stakeholders to define and align on common and global data definitions and standards.About the Data Strategy and Enablement Organization:Our organization focuses on managing and delivering world-class data assets, including creating and maintaining data standards, driving policy compliance, creating partnerships, and developing pipelines and self-service tools. We empower our business to leverage data to fuel growth, driving revenue in our core and building new business model opportunities. We protect customer, associate, and partner data, ensuring privacy and security when collecting data.Specific Responsibilities:• Translates strategic requirements into a usable enterprise information architecture which will include enterprise data models, a common business vocabulary, and taxonomies to be used to guide enterprise solution development and achieve consistency of data assets across Walmart• Oversees the day-to-day development of global subject area, conceptual and logical data models to drive data standardization and build an enterprise-wide data vocabulary• Manage the reuse and adoption of standard terminology and data definitions across the business• Collaborate and communicate with business stakeholders on supporting the program and their engagement in their representative data subject areas• Drive reporting framework for measuring adoption of data standards across Walmart’s IT data ecosystem• Develops and manages the framework for requirement, review and alignment sessions for data names, definitions and model reviews• Reports on the progress of the enterprise data modeling program and is able to communicate its value• Who you are:• You have excellent analysis and critical reasoning skills with a strong focus on execution• You are a team player, with the courage to drive change through disruption while maintaining a respect for the team• You possess strong collaboration skills and approach problems with positive intent while driving towards resolution• You have the ability to simplify strategy into simple actions• You empower and inspire your colleagues and team mates to take action and embrace the mindset that, "Everything can be made better”• You are curious, and are not afraid to dig deep and look in places that others ignoreQualifications:• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science or other data related field• Minimum of 5+ years of work experience as a Data Modeler/Data Architect/Information Architect; deep proficiency in data modeling or semantic graphs• Proven knowledge of core Information Architecture capabilities, including Master and Reference Data Management, Data Quality (DQ), Metadata Management, Data Taxonomy, Data Integration, Data Migration and Data Modeling• Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies• Experience in building models in Erwin preferred• Proven ability to drive results, especially in a matrixed or influence based environment.• Strong relationship building skills, coupled with high business acumen. • Highly accurate and detail-oriented• Excellent organization and time management skills• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Project management skills• Ability to work well under pressure; manage tight deadlines and situations where conflicting priorities arise Minimum Qualifications...Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position.
