About the role: CHANEL is looking for a Watch Repair Technician to join our Retail Team in the NYC Flagship Boutique. The role interfaces with our boutique team and is a key partner with our After Sales Service Center. The role will support the strong excellence in client experience. Acting as an ambassador for the brand, you will be responsible for delivering professional and seamless Quality Control, Repair, and Client support by providing the ultimate standard of Quality & After Sales services to the retail team.Reporting directly to the Retail Operations Manager , you will provide support to the Watch and Fine Jewelry retail team and work closely with the After Sales Service coordinators to ensure smooth operations during the repair process . What impact you can create at CHANEL: Provide in-store technical experience as well as provide support for local boutiquesDrive and build the aftersales experience in store for our customersPerform thorough physical inspection, testing, and diagnosis of client's CHANEL watches and jewelryPerform Watchmaking interventions and light jewelry repairs by respecting the Maison's quality standardsProvide and share technical knowledge in Jewelry and Watchmaking for Staff interaction with clientsAct as a support to Staff from a technical standpoint when handling difficult aftersales cases in Boutique or in CMAInteract with clients to bring expertise on most technical aspects or services needed for a pieceOffer technical advice to internal and external customers on product quality and functionalityProvide technical explanations and educate our clients on the way to wear and handle the Maison's creationsPerform diagnosis for both Jewelry and Watches when the piece cannot be repaired on site and must be sent to the Repair Workshop (RW)Follow any technical trainings provided by the Regional WFJ TrainerSupport inventory control, replenishment of spare parts and repair materialsReport all potential authenticity issues to managementMaintain a clean, neat, organized repair workshop including the work areas, equipment, and toolsIdentify and report quality issues encountered while repairing items from stock and clientsAssist in developing and maintaining SOP for repair workshops to achieve both process and cost effectivenessWork in accordance with Global guidelines and proactively making enhancements to improve efficiencies and productivityCollaborate with the Central Repair Workshop on client repairs, spare parts orders, database updates, etc. What you will bring to the team: Acting as an ambassador for the brand, bring a proven competency of watch repair experienceBuild a strong working relationship with our internal workshop and act as a support for the boutique team.Immerse yourself fully into the retail environment with the confidence to interact with clients and at events and become an integral part of the client experience.Understanding of the process for aftersales tasks, performing the initial analysis on all watches and jewelry items coming in for repair. Tasks will include, but not limited to: Physical inspection, testing and diagnosis of incoming watchesAll manner of repairs including repairs, maintenance, cleaning and or overhauls on watchesPicking of all parts/components needed and the physical disassembly, repair, replacement, overhaul or calibration and reassembly of all approved repair jobs as per clients request and or needs.Complete testing and quality control of all completed watch repairs including but not limited to watch functions and water resistance of the case Ability to work with boutique teams to update them on the status of repairs as well as liaise directly with customers to fully answer their technical queries on their pieces.Collaborate with retail staff to maintain stock in first quality condition, including battery updates and light polishing of watches and jewelry.Be responsible for logging in repairs, follow up all stages of the process, manage the spare parts inventory as well as undertake quality management of pieces in stock.A good understanding of equipment needed to perform tasks and carry out basic checks to ensure machines and equipment are maintained in good working order and highlight any issues in a timely manner. Position Logistics: Problem-solving skills, proactive mentality, willingness to learn and grow 5+ years' experience in repairing luxury timepieces (diagnostics, battery replacement, etc.) and basic experience with the 18K fine jewelry repairs (polishing, laser welding, findings replacement, engraving)Formal training in watchmaking or equivalent experienceComputer system literate and able to enter data for claims and projects Good understanding of equipment needed to perform tasks and carry out basic checks to ensure machines and equipment are maintained in good working orderWell-organized, detail-oriented, patientCapable to eloquently explain diagnostic to the staff or clientStrong communication skills and a sense of diplomacy to communicate and reassure most demanding clientsWork collaboratively and be a team player Standing/lifting to 20 lbs The role is full time, 100% on-site, retail store environment Flexible working hours (including weekends) Full-time in-store and in-person presence required to support client sales and client service deliver elevated client service to drive business results. *Chanel, Inc. reserves the right to edit, change, or make exceptions on designations where circumstances where deemed appropriate. Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $27.30 through $39.00. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay [may/will] be offered for this position. Other components [may/will] include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.
