Position Details

The City College of New York Auxiliary Enterprise Corporation (AEC) is seeking an experienced retail manager to oversee the daily operations of the City College campus store. Reporting to the Executive Director of the AEC, the manager will oversee all aspects of store operations and administrative management.

The AEC provides operational and administrative oversight over revenue-generating entrepreneurial activities at the college. Services include ID Office, campus-wide dining, vending, catering, spirit store operations, ATM services, exclusive pouring rights contract, MTVu Network program and new program and service enhancements and initiatives. The Executive Director serves as the Administrator of the CityONECard program.

The Auxiliary Enterprise Corporation manages business and service contracts, compliance and administration. Additionally, the AEC is charged with identifying and securing new revenue opportunities, products and services which will contribute to enhancing the experience of students, staff and guests of CCNY. The AEC is a New York not-for-profit corporation that is tax exempt pursuant to Section 501(c)3 of the IRS Tax Code.

The Manager's responsibilities include the following:

Organize and perform all aspects of store operations, including inventory ordering, receiving, product placement, and cashiering
Adherence to strict cash handling standard operating procedures
Supervise and guide staff towards maximum performance
Maintaining annual store's budget and profitability
Monitor and maintain inventory levels and purchases
Daily operations of retail point of sales and inventory software (Shopify)
Daily operations of retail management software and online order fulfillment, packaging/shipping, and in-store pick-up
Professionally manage customer requests and complaints
Hourly inspections of all store areas and resolution of all safety, security, and facility issues that may arise
Plan and create in-store and social media marketing promotional campaigns
Keep abreast of customer needs and sales trends
Generate sales and revenue reports and forecasting
Ensure the store maintains all legal and safety guidelines
Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills

BS/BA in business administration or relevant field
Minimum of three (3) years of retail store management experience
Knowledge of diverse business subjects such as sales, marketing, and inventory control
Excellent knowledge of retail point-of-sales and inventory software (Shopify)
Knowledge of retail management software and online order fulfillment, and in-store pick-up
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Supervisory experience preferred

Compensation

Salary commensurate with experience.
