Reports To: Director of Athletics Status: Full-Time, Exempt,
12-Month Position Summary/objective Mount Saint Mary College
(MSMC), an NCAA Division III institution located in Newburgh, NY
and member of the Skyline Conference, is looking for a motivated,
energetic and passionate individual to be the next Director of
Sports Medicine / Head Athletic Trainer. Reporting directly to the
Director of Athletics, the Director of Sports Medicine / Head
Athletic Trainer will be responsible for the overall management of
athletic training room operations with oversight of sports medicine
coverage for 20 NCAA Division III varsity sports. Essential
functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable

Daily oversight of the MSMC Athletic Training and Sports Medicine
department. Lead and coordinate the care, prevention,
rehabilitation and treatment of athletic injuries for
student-athletes. Schedule and provide daily coverage for all
practices and competitions, including some travel responsibilities
as determined by the Director of Athletics. Serve as the point of
contact with the Mount Saint Mary College team physician and
arrange for injury and illness treatment. Collect and maintain
complete, accurate and detailed medical records through SportsWare
and work with secondary insurance company as required. Supervise
the athletic department’s health and safety programs including, but
not limited to, NCAA drug testing and AED, First Aid and CPR
training. Provides leadership, supervises, manages and coordinates
the schedules of assistant athletic trainer(s), student athletic
trainer(s) and interns. Maintain NATA certification (paid for
annually by MSMC) and New York State licensure through CEUs.
Oversee the selection, purchase and maintenance of all athletic
training equipment and medical supplies while working within the
parameters of the department budget. Update annually and maintain
Student-Athlete Handbook and the Sports Medicine Emergency Action
Plan. Represent Mount Saint Mary College Athletics at all Skyline
Conference athletic training meetings. The successful candidate
will ensure a culture of compliance with all NCAA Division III,
Skyline Conference and Mount Saint Mary College rules and
regulations and ensure all staff members and student-athletes
comply with the same. Supervisory responsibilities Daily oversight
of the MSMC Athletic Training and Sports Medicine department.
Supervise the athletic department’s health and safety programs

and CPR training. Work environment Office Setting: Cubicles, open
desks, or private offices with access to necessary tools like
computers, phones, and office supplies. Remote Setting: Working
from home or another location with access to virtual communication
platforms and necessary technology. Physical demands Sitting:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or workstation.
Typing/Computer Use: Frequent use of a computer keyboard and mouse.
Vision Requirements: Ability to read and view screens for extended
periods. Speaking/Hearing: Regular communication with coworkers and
clients in person, over the phone, or via video calls.
Lifting/Carrying: Occasionally lifting or moving items up to 10-15
pounds, such as office supplies, laptops, or documents.
Reaching/Bending: Periodic reaching for or bending to access files,
supplies, or equipment. Mobility: Walking short distances within
the office or to meeting rooms. Travel required This position
requires occasional overnight travel, including local trips to
other colleges, as well as travel for championship competitions,
the NATA Convention, and conference meetings. Required education
and experience Bachelor’s Degree (required) 3-5 years experiences
working in collegiate or high school athletics. BOC Certification,
New York State licensure or eligibility, AED/CPR Certification.
Experience working with SportsWare or similar athletic training
program. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Demonstrated flexibility and professionalism, with a high standard
of personal conduct and integrity. Supervisory experience.
Preferred education and experience Master’s Degree preferred in
athletic training or related field. Work authorization/security
clearance requirements Must be authorized to work in the United
