Access Platform (MAP) is the nexus of the Supplier -Marketer-
Merchant partnership and are responsible for delivering our
suppliers (advertisers) impactful omnichannel member experiences
that are married with measurable insights. This is a unique

As MAP's Associate Director, Inventory Strategy & Yield, you are
responsible for providing holistic analysis on pricing, deals and
discounts, evaluation of inventory volume, rate cards while
partnering closely with Sales, Revenue Ops and the Analytics team
in balancing advertiser's media needs and MAP's business goals.
This successful candidate excels at creative problem solving and
dealing with ambiguity. They will be experts in digital media
monetization and performance, providing best practices to partner
teams in Media Strategy and Sales. Strong oral and written
communications skills are a must to thrive in this role in addition
to problem-solving, analytical reasoning, prioritization and
handling ambiguity.
Reporting to Head of Ad Operations, this role will have the unique
opportunity to develop and lead a small agile team that will be the
primary interface of the MAP Yield team to the Sam's Club Sales,
Sales Strategy and Revenue Operation team.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales and Sales Strategy teams on developing Joint
Business Plan framework for MAP related to pricing, inventory
evaluation and forecast
- Lead and develop ad analytics efforts supporting advertising
growth across all revenue channels through collaboration with Ad
Operations, Product team, Sales and others to implement yield
solutions and recommendations
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of reporting
models and insights for advertising initiatives, which can include
the production of revenue models, and the assessment of new and
speculative ad product initiatives
- Partner with Revenue Operations on the Annual Operating Plan
and the Long-Range Planning (LRP) of the business
- Ownership of pricing for all our offerings including Owned and
Operated Inventory, DSP, seasonal and micro event packages, in-club
offerings such as TV Wall and Sampling
- Own inventory management including forecasting and monitoring
inventory for Categories and Advertisers
- Deploy best practices for managing inventory, exceptions and
makegoods
- Provide key business metrics & insights, with visualizations
when applicable, for MAP Leadership team based on performance
trends
- Leverage campaign performance data to analyze and identify new
ways to maximize ad revenue and provide actionable recommendations
to Sales teams to hit goals
- Lead Advertiser trends, performance, and action-oriented metric
reviews with internal teams (revenue, impressions, clicks by
Advertiser/campaigns)
- Test tactics through experiments (A/B simulation) and drives
GTM
- Work with Sales and Media Strategy team to identify potential
areas of opportunities and risks with contracts and connect those
with financial impact
- Own the enforcement of policies and processes related to
makegoods, pricing, and discounts
- Maintain strong understanding of ad platforms, data sources,
and Digital Operations workflow, relying on these various inputs to
develop data-driven recommendations for improving yield or
operational efficiencies
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent
practical experience
- 7+ years of media analytics & yield experience in a digital
advertising environment
- Excellent communicator, across multiple levels/functions with
the ability to influence and drive action
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability
to translate quantitative details into clear, succinct summaries
and recommendations for peers, sales, and executive audiences
- Strong working knowledge of Ad network/Ad
exchange/DSP/SSP/Publisher
- Experience with SQL queries, Omniture, and business
intelligence tools (Tableau, Datorama, etc.)
- Deep familiarity with CRM and ad serving platforms (Salesforce,
Google Ads Manager, etc.)
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Proven track record of partnering with Sales, Sales Ops, and Ad
Ops to achieve yield optimization results
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills,
experience with financial analysis, forecasting and modeling
- Experience in developing monetization strategies, inventory
optimization, and campaign management
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup like
environment
- Excellent time management skills with a focus on execution,
ability to juggle multiple urgent requests and prioritize
responsibilities
