Position: Sr. Merchandise Manager, Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) - Marmot and ExOfficio Reports To: Director, DTC - Outdoor and Recreation Location: Hoboken, NJ -The Sr. Merchandise Manager, DTC - Marmot and ExOfficio , is responsible for developing, managing, and executing the DTC strategy for Marmot and ExOfficio DTC sites. In partnership with the Director, DTC - Outdoor and Recreation, the role will own the segment's P&L and be responsible for scaling, expanding, and optimizing its digital presence. - Key Responsibilities In partnership with Director, establish the long-term DTC Ecommerce vision, strategy and team priorities

  • Act as the hub between cross functional partners, with a general management mentality to drive DTC business. Develop the annual and multi-year strategic and financial plans in collaboration with the brand team and cross-functional partners
  • Drive DTC multi-seasonal product and buying strategy in partnership with Global Merchants, Designers, and Supply Chain to support the future vision and maximize sales and margin Responsible for driving web activation, site operations, and customer relationship management; aligning product and site strategy
  • Establish acquisition and retention strategies, including CRM in partnership with the Technology, e-Marketing and Analytics teams
  • Ideate and implement growth initiatives aimed at elevating the brand and driving differentiating consumer experiences (partnerships, improved services, increase customer loyalty). Collaborate with the Digital Technology team and operational partners to drive a best-in-class customer experience on the Ecommerce sites. Inform the technology product roadmap and establish the vision and plan for future global footprint
  • Align quarterly activation and promotional plans with division plans and priorities
  • Analyze site performance to continuously improve key site metrics
  • Establish annual objectives & deliver regular performance reviews
  • Play a pivotal role in driving the team's engagement and cross-functional collaboration with the Divisions, Marketing, Finance, Digital Technology, Customer Service and Analytics teams Develop and enhance the team's skills related to people management, budgeting/forecasting, pricing, Google Analytics, and marketing operations - - -Candidate Profile The Sr. Merchandise Manager, Direct-to-Consumer will be a strategic and growth-oriented merchant/buyer with proven success developing productive assortments, driving site strategy, and building talent. S/he will have a strong connection to the product and be passionate about creating assortments; ideally with experience driving a channel within a larger organization. The ideal candidate must possess world-class Ecommerce acumen and understand how to optimize web store performance. S/he will have experience scaling and driving revenue for an established brand or retailer with multimillion dollar scale. In keeping with the Newell culture, s/he will thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, have an entrepreneurial mindset and be comfortable with ambiguity. - - -Key Qualifications
  • BS/BA or University degree in Business or similar field preferred, MBA a plus 8+ years in Direct to Consumer merchandising and buying with e-commerce work experience; apparel experience strongly preferred 4+ year of experience leading and developing teams Demonstrated experience leading a team of eCommerce merchandisers and/or buyers, developing and growing talent. Strong business acumen and analytical skills with ability to synthesize data to drive strategic decision making Strong decision-making skills and an understanding of where projects fit into overall Company and category strategies Interpersonal savvy; an ability to effectively work with and connect with all levels throughout the organization across various functions and geographies Experience with Analytics tools (i.e. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics or similar) and familiarity with common CRM technologies -Competencies required for the position: -Strategic Planning and Vision
