Position Summary... What you'll do... About Store No8 We are the incubation arm of Walmart. Store No8 was formed in 2017 as part of Walmart's larger innovation mission to shape the future of commerce. We pursue big ideas and take risks by stepping outside of Walmart's core business to focus on leapfrog capabilities across conversational commerce, mixed reality, in-store digitization, and more. Our ultimate goal: fuel Walmart's core business, create new operational efficiencies, and unlock amazing experiences for our customers in the long-term. About the Role As the Head of Operations for Store No8 , you will be responsible for ensuring that all functional and operational activities of the incubator as well as our startups are reflective of startup DNA and balance risk with speed and effectiveness of delivery (i.e., fast AND world-class). You will partner with functional leads to define and develop Store No8 's operating model for areas such as Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, FP&A, Accounting, Procurement, IT, Product, Store Ops, and anything else that might pertain to creating a fit-for-purpose operating model for Store No8 startups. You will be the bridge between the startups and Walmart's core. And you will do this by adopting a start-up mindset and galvanizing existing resources as much as possible (motivating them to accept changes to hard-coded corporate processes). What You'll Do

  • Build a world-class operating model from the ground up, partnering with our startups and functional partners, and provide ongoing improvement based on feedback from the startups and Walmart corporate functions
  • Identify anything that is broken or impeding the startups from being able to function at breakneck speed, escalating concerns to the Head of Strategy & Operations where needed
  • Balance startup demands for nimble (and often doing away with) processes with ensuring that we aren't exposing ourselves to excessive regulatory, compliance, or financial risks
  • Helping startups succeed within the parameters of a larger organization
  • Aggressively pursue self-service and automation opportunities
  • Serve as a thought partner and co-executor to any of the startups when they are looking to build operational/functional processes within their own organizations
  • Manage a small team (1-2 headcount to start) to support the development and execution of the Store N--8 operating model What You'll Need
    • 10+ years of experience in business operations, PE operations, or organizational transformation roles with escalating responsibility; MBA and management consulting experience preferred
    • Ability to drive large-scale projects to define process and ways of working through multiple functions and teams
    • Self-starter with analytical skills, able to identify problems and/or opportunities for improvement, assesses viable solutions, and develops and executes complex projects and comprehensive action plans
    • Conveys a sense of urgency in ways that motivate others to complete responsibilities and achieve goals
    • Uses relevant business metrics, analyses, and reports to measure, monitor, and improve performance. Identifies and applies sound, fact-based criteria in setting priorities and making decisions
    • Highly organized and self-motivated with distinctive problem-solving capabilities
    • Able to deal tactfully, respectfully and effectively with a diverse array of individuals; develops and communicates logical, convincing reasons, including lessons learned, to build support for one's viewpoints and actions. Involves others in decisions and plans that affect them, when appropriate
    • Demonstrates creativity and strength in the face of change, obstacles, or adversity. Adapts to competing demands and shifting priorities. Updates knowledge and skills to handle new complexities, challenges, and responsibilities.
    • Equally comfortable devising strategic initiatives and operationalizing tactical projects
    • Willing both to get your hands dirty and to liaise indirectly with teams
    • Aware of what needs doing and keen to make it happen, however big or small

      Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations, or related field and 5 years' experience in operations, project
