Description Reporting to the Production Manager, this position will
assemble, solder, and perform basic tests for subassemblies,
optical assemblies, CCD based detectors, and other scientific
instruments in a clean room environment within our ISO-9000
production facility. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: /n - Assemble
intricate mechanical assemblies and subassemblies with precision
tools and fixtures. /n - Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld,
solder, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in
place, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. /n -
Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and
connects wires between individual component leads and other
components, connectors, terminals, and contact points, using
crimping, welding, wire bonding or related bonding procedures and
equipment. /n - Adjusts or trims materials from components to
achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics. /n -
Performs on-line go-no-go testing and inspection, using magnifying
devices, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment, to
ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and
standards. /n - Measures parts to verify dimensional specifications
using precision measuring devices. /n - May set up and operate
machinery to modify parts. /n - Input data into, and extract data
from, various production and company databases and ERP systems. /n
- Read work orders, drawings, and procedures regarding duties to be
performed. /n - Participate in cross-training activities. /n -
Identify problems with documentation and initiate corrections and
improvements for new and existing products and methods. /n - Assist
in transferring new product assemblies, instruments from product
development into production. /n /n EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE NEEDS: /n
- High School education or equivalent. /n - 3-5 years of experience
in electro/mechanical assembly and test environment. /n - Prior
microscopic/ precision assembly experience. /n - IPC-610 or
J-STD-001 certification preferred /n - Ability to work in a team
environment /n - Proficient computer skills /n - Good interpersonal
skills /n - Experience with ERP Systems /n - Experience with
