Job Description:
Job Description Job Description - Valid driver’s license with
clean driving record - Technical Skills - Proficient in diagnosing,
repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems (furnaces, air
conditioners, heat pumps) and residential/commercial plumbing
systems - Knowledge of electrical basics related to HVAC (controls,
wiring diagrams, safety shutoffs) - Ability to read and interpret
blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams - Proficient use of
HVAC/R diagnostic tools (manometers, combustion analyzers,
refrigerant gauges, multimeters) - Familiarity with boilers,
radiant heating, and plumbing fixtures (water heaters, faucets,
toilets, drains) - Experience - 2 years of field experience in HVAC
and plumbing service or equivalent combination of training and
hands-on work - Experience with preventive maintenance and service
agreements - Experience in estimating service needs and parts
selection (post-service documentation) - Customer Service &
Communication - Strong communication skills; ability to explain
technical issues to non-technical customers - Professional
appearance and demeanor; courteous and respectful with customers -
Ability to upsell or propose cost-effective solutions when
appropriate (within company guidelines) - Physical & Safety
Requirements - Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined
spaces - Comfortable with working in varied weather conditions and
residential/commercial settings - Knowledge of safety protocols for
electrical, gas, and plumbing. Responsibilities - Service Calls &
Diagnostics - Respond to scheduled and emergency service calls for
HVAC and plumbing systems - Diagnose issues quickly and accurately
using diagnostic tools and tests - Inspect, test, and validate
system operation; identify root causes and potential failures -
Repairs & Replacements - Perform safe and reliable repairs or
replacements of HVAC components (furnaces, condensers, air
handlers, thermostats, compressors) and plumbing fixtures (pipes,
valves, leaks, water heaters) - Install, adjust, and commission new
components and systems per manufacturer specifications and code
requirements - Carry out routine PM tasks and recommend proactive
maintenance - Installation & Commissioning (as applicable) - Assist
with or complete installations of HVAC and plumbing equipment as
assigned - Ensure proper sizing, venting, refrigerant charging,
combustion analysis, and system. - Compliance & Documentation -
Adhere to local codes, regulations, and safety standards (gas,
electrical, refrigerant handling) - Complete service reports,
including detailed notes, photos, parts used, and recommendations -
Provide customers with clear estimates and obtain authorization
before extensive work - Customer Interaction & Service Quality -
Communicate findings, options, and costs clearly; manage customer
expectations - Maintain a clean and professional job site; protect
customer property - Offer maintenance plans or energy-saving
recommendations when appropriate - Collaboration & Teamwork -
Coordinate with dispatch, installers, and supervisors to optimize
service routes and workload - Share knowledge and mentor junior
technicians as needed - Continual Improvement - Stay current with
industry trends, new technologies, and code changes - Participate
in training, certifications, and safety programs Preferred
