Company:MMC CorporateDescription:Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) is seeking candidates for the following position in our Hoboken, NJ office:Indirect Tax Senior ManagerWhat can you expect?The US Indirect Tax Senior Manager will be responsible for supporting the business on a variety of US Indirect Tax matters, managing Tax audits and controversy, and ensuring that the outsourced compliance services we receive are working satisfactorily. A significant proportion of the role will be acting as the MMC Tax partner with the various MMC businesses in relation to Sales and Use Tax: dealing with questions arising; proactively seeking to drive reporting efficiencies; managing tax risk; and seeking to secure tax savings. The successful candidate will also have responsibility for the day-to-day management of colleagues involved with US Indirect Tax work.This role will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to initiate and take forward a range of projects and initiatives to drive savings and to reduce risk, and will involve working with business, tax, accounting, and technology colleagues.What's in it for you?A company with a strong Brand and strong results to match.Culture of collaboration and valued partnership throughout business.Competitive pay and benefits package: medical, dental, vision, STI/LTI, life insurance, generous 401k match and contribution.Eligible to participate in our tuition reimbursement and our Employee Stock Purchase Plan.Generous vacation, time off and company holidays.We will count on you to:Working with external service providers to review and improve indirect tax reporting processes, utilizing and supporting the implementation of available technology solutions.Undertaking reviews as to how the various MMC businesses are applying sales tax to their products, providing assurance that correct treatment is being applied, and advising the business as to how process/the commercial position might be improved.Advising business and finance colleagues on Property Tax and Sales and Use Tax matters.Management and development of US based indirect tax colleagues, including supporting them on technical issues.Manage Sales and Use Tax compliance colleagues responsible for overseeing indirect tax reporting.The role involves acting as the key interface between operational staff and MMC Tax on indirect tax matters.What you need to have:Bachelor---s degree or higher with a relevant tax or accounting qualifications10 years--- experience of US Sales and Use Tax management is required.Additional experience of managing process improvement work in a service business environment preferred.Ideally be familiar with using Oracle, Vertex and tax reporting processes that require the collation of data from multiple systems.What makes you stand out:Big 4 accounting firm experience with excellent consulting skills who is always in search of constant improvement.
